A Free and Personalized Curriculum

If in a society there is no understanding of truth, no discipline for goodness, and no desire to create beauty, one must turn to the works of art and literature from which the contemporary society originated in order to rediscover all three. This is the basis of all education: the acquisition of past knowledge to guide oneself and one’s people through the darkest of times.

L.E.A.F.

Learning as Exploration & Authentic Fulfillment

In his personal diary, John Quincy Adams recorded a quote originally ascribed to Caecilius Statius: “He who plants trees labors for the benefit of future generations.”

Recognizing this statement as a natural allegory for education, Aurelia seeks to plant and nurture a new form of holistic learning into the sterile ashes of our secular, homogenized age. Like saplings sprung from charred soil, Aurelia frames its future learning programs as elements of a tree grown to provide shade for the youth yet to come, with leaves striving ever upward for the new light come at dawn.

Thus, Aurelia’s L.E.A.F. program is meant to provide K-12 students with a more natural view of both themselves and their heritage, providing personal growth, community development, and broader culture creation through hands-on, project-based curriculum at a flexible pace which allows students to progress at their own pace in subjects that appeal most to who they really are - both within and without.

    Learning model that allows students to choose what books to read, what subjects to specialize in, and what pace is appropriate for proving competency in every course

    Cheap or free texts, assignments, assessments, and lesson plans provide access to a customizable model of learning for students to engage in a classical education at their own pace

    An admixture of Montessori, Waldorf, and Homeschooling allows for a break in rigid class structures in favor of authentic life experiences, access to nature, student-led discovery, and even fun

  • Social Learning Centers

    Community centers encourage the restoration of the local social fabric while providing space for libraries, study groups, health care, family support, maker spaces, and testing sites

  • Spiritual Infrastructure

    All humans have faith in something, but in modern times this is often rejected; into such vacuum, Aurelia seeks to build the socio-economic networks necessary to renew faith in the Divine

  • Local Trade Programs

    Hands-on classes that teach trade skills to generations by providing tools in maker spaces, developing mentorship opportunities in crucial careers for local economies

  • Family Preparation

    The natural desire to form family has been increasingly discouraged in post-industrial societies; thus, Aurelia offers free materials to prepare for and maintain this sacred act

  • Regional Beautification

    Beautiful communities reflect and encourage beautiful lives, with restored, long-lasting architecture acting as a vessel for continued human love, faith, comradery, and heritage
